FLCDC DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

The FLCDC has consistently served its target community since 1988. Below is a list of HOME funded affordable housing projects that have been awarded to the FLCDC since 2004. These projects were competitively bid and awarded by City of Fort Lauderdale Department of Sustainable Development/Housing and Community and Economic Development Division and financed with HOME Funds, each project was completed on time and on budget.

INFILL HOUSING SCATTERED LOT PROJECT

The Fort Lauderdale Community Development Corporation (FLCDC) is excited to be a part of the Infill Residential Site Development Initiative. In cooperation with the Northwest Fort Lauderdale Community Redevelopment Agency (NW CRA) the FLCDC has been selected to build up to 10 new single-family homes in the historic northwest Fort Lauderdale community!

The key elements of the FLCDC Scattered Site Infill Housing proposal are to increase the opportunities for homeownership, contain density and provide quality new single-family homes in the established northwest community. The FLCDC approach is to preserve the residential nature with designs that embrace the existing context of the community. The FLCDC proposed developments will focus on energy efficiency that reduces the cost of homeownership by using energy efficient appliances, windows and doors and other products that minimize the cost of utilities over time. We believe the FLCDC fresh and creative architectural design on non-conforming undersized or oversized lots in this historic community will attract new families.
The Infill Residential Site development project is designed to construct new single-family homes on vacant lots in historic northwest Fort Lauderdale. These lots are located near downtown, close to public transportation, health care services, Walker Elementary School, and the new
L.A. Lee YMCA on Sistrunk Blvd. with easy accessibility to major roads and highways.
